Unnatural shyness

I got my first "home sharps container" for my insulin syringes--you know, like those red containers with the big yellow biohazard labels on the front that are in your doctor's office? It's like a smaller version of that. In fact, it's approximately the size of a large water bottle. I'm considering using it for beverages or stuffing my lunch in it, just to freak people out. I think that would be pretty sweet.

I'm reading John Irving's A Prayer For Owen Meany whilst simultaneously considering why I don't like to read. I think part of it is because I become overly-engrossed in the book and am in a sort of haze until a couple of days after I finish it. It's like everything becomes pseudo-reality, and sometimes I wake up thinking I'm in the book. A lot of movies do that to me, too, which is why I tend to keep movie-watching to a minimum.

That's a wonderful book, I think, but probably not one I'd want to wake up and be in the middle of.

I used to have one of those sharps containers but I think mine was more of a tan color. I eventually gave up on trying to keep up with it and went for the ol' break the needles off cap and all and hope for the best. I am a medical professionals nightmare. Instead of waking up thinking they are in a dream, they wake up and think I am in the room! =o)

I have recently been put on (finally after many years of refusing for $$ reasons) novolog and lantus and it has made a HUGE difference in my blood sugars.

How are yours doing? My, what a dorky question to ask...;o)
